Will Ferrell Minor League debut - Pitching as Rojo Johnson

Will Ferrell made his minor league debut yesterday pitching for the Round Rock Express as #99 "Rojo" Johnson. A native Venezuelan, Rojo Johnson (who's full name was on the back of his jersey), was arrested and convicted for stealing and selling Iguanas.

Will Ferrell aka Rojo Johnson went through the hole routine of a Round Rock picher, running in from the outfield with a beer and peanuts, warming up, and even throwing a pitch to a batter. The mustached Rojo proves announcers wrong by not throwing a "45 foot fastball", instead painting the outside corner for a strike.

Will Ferrell's mechanics were pretty decent but he definitely needs some tips and drills from YouGoProBaseball.com to work on a few things. Rojo Johnson is known to throw 97-98 mph. I'm not sure if it was the camera angle, but to me it looked more like 57-58.

Will Ferrell actually went on to pitch to a non roster batter and throws the first pitch behind him. The batter and Rojo Johnson put on a little show and Ferrell gets chaced all the way through the outfield and attacked by the other teams bullpen. I'm not sure if this was a promotion for Kenny Powers Eastbound and Down or what it was, but I just thought it was worth checking out. By the way, anyone know when season 2 of Eastbound and Down starts?
