Pitching from the Wind Up vs The Stretch

I get this pitching question a lot on my website and YouTube channel. Is it better to pitch from the wind up or from the stretch?

Some people believe that pitching from the wind up gives you more momentum or you have a benefit of some sort pitching from the wind up. I disagree.

I believe that it is more of a comfort thing. With that being said, you never HAVE to pitch from the wind up, so why not practice getting comfortable pitching from the stretch. Because you will HAVE to pitch from the stretch at some point in your career unless you never let a runner on base (not gonna happen).

My theory is, when it comes to pitching from the wind up vs pitching from the stretch, is to practice more pitching from the stretch so that you can get used to it. I only used to pitch from the stretch even when there were no runners on base.

My thought process behind this was, I've got less room for error in a shorter delivery (ie: the stretch) and I never HAVE to pitch from the wind up, so why practice two different things, when I can practice being perfect with one.

Watch this video I made about pitching from the wind up vs pitching from the stretch and let me know what you think.

So, what do you think about pitching from the wind up vs pitching from the stretch? Do you like pitching from the wind up better, or do you like pitching from the stretch better?
