Pitching Drills - Hips Drill / Wall Drill

The hips drill, also known as the wall drill, is a great pitching drill to help pitchers keep their weight back, by breaking their hips and leading with their butts.

The reason the hips drill or the wall drill is such a good pitching drill is because it will help keep the pitchers hips closed and won't let them leak and lose power.

By keeping the weight back and keeping the hips closed, the pitcher will have more power when he explodes his hips open and transfers his weight forward.

You will know that you are doing this pitching drill right if the first thing to touch the wall is your butt and not your shoulder or your knee (which are common faults in this pitching drill).
