New Baseball Bat Rules for 2012 - BBCOR vs. BESR

Here is a video of me talking about the new bat rules for the 2012 baseball season.  Baseball is switching from the old BESR certification to the new BBCOR.  The BBCOR measures the trampoline effect of the bat and is more accurate for the life of the baseball bat, while the BESR measures the velocity off of the bat, which can actually increase as the bat gets broken in.  That's why the new bat rules are being put into play Jan 1st, 2012.  The other addition to the new bat rules is that the baseball bat has to be -3 in weight or heavier.  Also, most composite bats are now illegal.  All one piece wood bats that are -3 or heavier are legal to use.  In fact, my recommendation is to get use to using the wood bats because in the future you will have to use them.  If I missed anything on the new bat rules for 2012 let me know so I can correct it or add to it.  Thanks.
