How To Grip and Throw an Eephus
Throwing an Eephus (pronounced E-fus) may look like an easy pitch to throw but it can be rather hard if you think about it. For the Eephus pitch you have to throw the baseball slow enough that it messes with the batter's timing and high enough so it messes with their eye level.
The Eephus can be effective if you can locate it for a strike. A disciplined hitter will probably just spit on an eephus (take it) but those who do swing will have a hard time making contact with the eephus.
The grip of the eephus is just however you feel most comfortable to float it up there for a strike. Watch the video to see some super slow eephus pitches.
