Hitting Drills - The Bucket Hitting Drill
Check out Avery performing this hitting drill called the bucket drill. This hitting drill is great for working on getting into a good athletic hitting stance, staying strong on your feet, and getting a good load and drive. As you can see in the video, you sit on the bucket to start, then stand and load as the pitcher is getting ready to throw. Stay low and get a good drive while using your front leg as leverage to hit off your backside. This hitting drill is great for all ages, as I have seen pro players doing this to work on getting their butt lower for more power. This hitting drill is also great for conditioning because sitting on the bucket and then standing a bunch of times can be a workout in itself.
