Hitting Drills - The Chair Drill
Chair Drill
The chair drill is a great drill to focus on the upper half of the swing, eliminating the lower body. How it works is you sit in a chair or on a bucket and have someone toss the baseball to you.
With this drill you should focus on timing and rhythm, along with a nice and easy swing. You don’t want to swing too hard in this drill because it is easier to pull something when you are eliminating the lower half.
Take nice, easy, fluent swings at a tossed baseball. Work on the upper body load and hitting the top half of the baseball. Make sure you are following through properly. This drill is also good for gaining some strength in the core area and in the hands.
