College Baseball Scholarship Opportunities

College Baseball Scholarship Opportunities

There are many opportunities for recieving college baseball scholarships. Although there are many opportunities, there are also many talented young baseball players. You must be willing to put in time and effort into the search for college scholarships if you want to succeed and recieve one.

First, let me give you the numbers. The NCAA allows each of its Division I baseball programs to give 11.78 scholarships. There are over 295 NCAA Division I baseball programs.

Division I Scholarships: over 3,500

The NCAA also allows each of its Division II baseball programs to give 9 scholarships. There are over 230 NCAA Division II baseball programs.

Division II Scholarships: over 2,000

NCAA Division III schools are not allowed baseball scholarships. You can still recieve academic scholarships or independent baseball scholarships for these schools, but these programs can not offer any financial aid specifically for it's baseball programs.

Division III Scholarships: 0

Then there is the NAIA. These baseball programs are allowed to give a maximum of 12 scholarships. There are close to 200 NAIA baseball programs.

NAIA Scholarships: over 2,300

Let's not forget about the NJCAA (Junior Colleges). The NJCAA allows its junior colleges with baseball programs 24 full scholarships. There are over 380 NJCAA Junior College baseball programs.

NJCAA Scholarships: over 9,100

Ok, so let's do the math. We've got over 3,500 DI scholarships, over 2,000 DII scholarships, over 2,300 NAIA scholarships, and over 9,100 NJCAA scholarships.

Before I go and add all those scholarship opportunities up, I want to also mention that not all scholarships are full rides. This means that the 11.78 scholarships per DI could really be 23 half scholarships, or it could even be 35 1/3 partial scholarships. The 11.78 full scholarships can be broken down into any partial scholarships so long as they only total up to the 11.78 full scholarships. So you know what that means? That's even more opportunity for us.

For the sake of the math, we will just assume that all DI, DII, and NAIA scholarships will give all their athletes full rides. This is far from reality because a full rides come few and far between. Junior College scholarships however, can only offer full rides. That is a different story because it is regulated.

With that being said, let's add em' up! 3,500 2,000 2,300 9,100 That's over 16,900 scholarship opportunities!! That's assuming everyone gets a full ride. We are probably looking a number closer to 25,000!!!!!!!!!!!!
