Bat Wiggle

Bat Wiggle - Is it ok to wiggle your bat while you are waiting for the pitch?

You may see some big league hitters up there just waving their bat around all crazy waiting for the pitch to come in.  What you don't see is that they get their bat back to the same position every time.

Big League hitters have a bat wiggle for certain reasons.  For some of them, their hands are too quick and they use this to slow them down a little bit.  For some, the bat wiggle is a timing device, to time the pitcher's delivery and start their swing.  And for others, the bat wiggle is just a comfort routine.  This is what makes them feel comfortable in the batter's box.

Whatever the reason, there is a REASON.  If you have a bat wiggle, make sure it is there for a reason, instead of doing it because you are mimicking your favorite player or just because you want to look cool.

Try it as a timing device or try it to get comfortable in the box, but make sure you get your bat back into position before the baseball is pitched.
